SQUID LID is a Dark Electro spectacle for the everyday explorer. This deep sea experience takes audiences (lovingly called Tentacles) on an eerie journey through the strange and unusual world that is Squid Lid.
SQUID LID began in 2009 as an underground rave duo in Toronto, featuring Jonah K and Zirco Fisher. Deep bass beats with whimsical circus melodies was their sound while performong in signature glowing creature masks. The departure of Jonah K in 2012 marked the arrival of vocalist Chloe Dellark and lighting/projectionist Dallas Boyes, who both helped create an evolutionary new feel to the project.
With three official albums under their "Lids" (Steam Powered Submarine, Crypto Zoo & Tackle Box) SQUID LID released their fourth “Escape To Liquidrome” in June 2016 on Negative Gain Productions.
Squid Lid has made appearances at SXSW (Austin TX), NXNE (Toronto), Astral Harvest Festival (AB), Eclipse Festival (QC), Fan Expo (Toronto), and has toured across Canada, the US, & Europe.
After an inspiring 4 month engagement in Berlin Squid Lid has most recently undergone a new project direction, focusing it’s efforts on the production of three annual costume parties in Toronto called The KRAMPUS BALL - MERMAID BALL - SKELEDANCE
Currently, the Squid Lid project is evolving into a conceptual housing unit for parties, decor, art, music.
Squid Lid “Tentacles” have been waiting patiently for more ear candy and will be rewarded with an upcoming double album called “Worn Ritual”, a greatest hits remix album called “Breach”, as well as a new music video and more issues for the graphic novel origin story “The Flatbed Ledger”. To say stay tuned is an understatement.
